There are two types of people in this world: those who eat to live and those who live to eat. I proudly say that I belong to the second group. Being Indian, food plays a huge role in my life. It's considered a blessing from God, and in my opinion, food was created for each of us to enjoy. Not only do I love cooking, I also like to go out and explore new restaurants around Atlanta, as well as on any of my travels. I enjoy trying new cuisines and learning about cultural influences on cooking throughout the world. Below, you'll find some of my favorites, which might soon become some of your favorites as well!

1. Indian- Okay, maybe I'm biased for this one because Indian food, or brown food as I like to call it, runs in my blood. The spices, the textures, the presentation, everything just screams my name. I mean, my mouth is watering literally just typing this up. People often get intimidated by this cuisine because they think it will be extremely spicy. Although we use a variety of spices in our food, our food is actually not that spicy; it's just more flavorful. Don't get me wrong, some dishes can be too much even for a pro like me, but if you request the chef to go easy on the heat, I promise you, you will enjoy it! Some of my favorite meals are samosas (fried potato pastries), chaat (sweet and spicy appetizer), rice and daal (lentils), and of course the endless desserts!

2. Italian: Carbs galore, but I wouldn't want it any other way! The simplicity and freshness of Italian food is what keeps me coming back for more. I love the way each ingredient shines in any given meal. Pizza, calzones, pasta, you name it, and I will be down to eat it. My favorites include pasta with arrabiata sauce (which is a spicy red sauce), and of course a simple caprese salad. Nothing beats that combination!

3. Mexican: Oh my God, who doesn't love Mexican food?! The bold flavors and vibrant colors are enough to keep you coming back for more. Some of my favorites include chimichangas, enchiladas, and of course the classic tacos. I like to pair any Mexican meal with salsa verde and lots of fresh limes for a kick of flavor. Oh, and you can't forget some freshly made guacamole and a refreshing margarita! Now that is bliss.

4. Asian: This cuisine is an umbrella of flavors because there are so many variations. My favorite happens to be Thai, but I still enjoy Chinese and Japanese flavors. I find it so intriguing how each cuisine under this umbrella has such a varied flavor profile. My personal favorites would be a big bowl of Pad Thai, lots of pan-fried dumplings, and of course the spring rolls with sweet and spicy sauce! I could probably eat a thousand of those. So good!
These are just some of my favorites. Honestly, I could go on and on about all the food I love. It's like a never-ending saga! What are some of your favorite cuisines? Share them in the comments below!
