Before I even get into this topic...hear me out. We ALL have busy days, jam packed schedules, and sometimes too many things going on with number of hours in a day. Realize that with anything you want in life, you have to MAKE the time. Sure this is a meal prep hack post, but remember, to make it a part of your life means you have to want it!

Meal prepping is a great way to get your nutrition on track, lower the stress of always trying to figure out what to eat, and adding in some structure into your healthy habits.

I have meal prepped for life, for competing in bikini competitions, and given women advice on how to incorporate meal prep hacks into their lives.

Ready for some tips? Here we go!

Make grocery shopping dates

  • Plan out certain days of the week you know you can and will shop. Attempt to make them evenly spaced throughout the week.

Have a weekly idea of what foods you want that week

  • Think on what protein sources you want for the week, what kind of meals, what foods do you want to cook to have ready for the week

Designate days to cooking

  • Wednesday evenings are free? Awesome set aside an hour to cook some food for the rest of the week and through the weekend.

Crock pot!

  • If you are going to be out for a few hours on certain days of the week, use crock pot recipes to your advantage. Out to workout, do some errands, and meet with a client? Turn that sucker on and you’ll come home to a fresh meal.

Grill up some meat, roast some veggies, and freeze them in meal portions for future use.

  • Just like it says. Have food precooked and easy to grab. Microwave it, stick it in the oven for a few and bam! Freshly cooked food.

Healthy baked goods: protein packed muffins, energy bites, egg muffins

  • Pinterest can be a girl’s best friend. There is an array of recipes of all sorts for this kind of stuff!

Healthy food out:

  • If you have no food and will be on the run, there are better options for the road! You can create healthy meals at places like Chipotle, Chick Fil A, Starbucks, Panera, shoot...even Cracker Barrel has healthy choices!

Meal Prep Services

They are a real thing. Yes. Find a high quality one and if you can afford it, go for it. For us less fortunate folks, we can only sit back and enjoy the prep ourselves.

Cheers and good cooking,

Amelia
