Hello hello! Katelynn here. For this beautiful Monday, I am here to show you how to make a face mask out of sweet potato (and some other ingredients) as well as a review because, well, this is the first time I've ever done this!
For this version, I read about several different kinds of sweet potato masks to kind of make it my own. Plus, some ingredients are more readily available in my house than others. Anyways, here's what I used: one sweet potato, honey, coconut oil, cinnamon, and whole milk. All you have to do it blend everything up, smear it on your face, wear it for 15-20 minutes, and clean it off!
Here's the full recipe:

Ingredients:
Half a sweet potato, cooked
1 tbsp. honey
1 tsp. coconut oil
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
Milk as needed
Directions:
1. Blend all ingredients except for the milk
2. Add milk gradually until the consistency is smooth enough to apply
3. Apply to face and wear for 15-20 minutes
It may also be a good idea to use a smaller food processor instead of a blender because this recipe doesn't make much. I ended up having to pull it out of the blender and hand mashing with a spoon as I added more milk.
My wonderful best friend, Caitlin, and I tried this mask out together. I opted to lay it on thick while she spread it out as thinly as possible (because it is CHUNKY).

So, would I recommend this mask? If you can get past the baby food looks and chunky consistency, I would! It felt really refreshing, and it made my skin feel really nice. Caitlin, on the other hand, was not a huge fan. It got kind of crusty and felt gross since hers was so thin. The parts of my face that had a thin layer also crusted over, and those areas didn't feel the best.
Final tip: don't wash this off down your sink unless you have a garbage disposal. It is too chunky for your pipes.
