Coffee
What is it?
The coffee bean plant is a lovely plant that grows the beans that our coffee comes from. To make it simple it goes like this:
The plant is grown. The seeds are harvested. The skin is removed. The seeds are fermented, dried, and milled. Once all ready for packaging, they are shipped to different places where coffee lovers reside. They are then roasted and ready to be ground and brewed!
Thank you Coffee Bean Corral for the quick coffee lesson!
Caffeine content:
80-100mg of caffeine is an 8oz cup of coffee...what you actually pour as a “cup” now that is on you!

Health benefits:
Coffee seems to be neutral on the health spectrum. Just be careful to not have too much caffeine! People enjoy it as a pre-workout, a quick pick me up, or a tasty beverage with an amazing aroma.
Tea
What is it?
Tea comes from the Tea plant, Camellia sinensis. Just like wine, the type of tea depends on the geographic location, soil, etc.
Herbal infusions and flavored teas come into play with different herbs, spices, and or other plants infused into the whole mix.
So the plant is picked, okay cool, now what? It is laid out to wither and is then steamed. The tea leaves are then rolled, either by hand or machine, to get it to the proper texture and allows the important compounds to let loss in the plant. Once rolled, the tea leaves are oxidized, which gives them their color, and are dried. Dried tea leaves are now ready to be brewed with some hot water! Thank you Samovar for teaching me how tea is made!
